In my late 40’s, following many great adventures, and an interesting and varied career, I began to consider what I want my life in the future to be. Determined to fulfil my life’s dreams, I needed to figure out how to get there, but also strive to have contingency plans for the 'what ifs' and 'whens' that life often throws our way.

I have had the privilege to work, live and travel throughout many different countries over the years. From living in Haiti and Papua New Guinea and back to my homeland of Ireland, I have lived a fulfilled life but yet I knew I wanted more and could do so much to help others.

Providing supports to organisations in recent years in the Caribbean and Asia-Pacific, I work with organisations worldwide through human resource management, business development, and succession planning. When I delved deeper into the offering of succession planning, no matter where in the world, it became clear that many organisations - both large and small scale businesses - kept putting it off for 'another time'. This often resulted in panic to fill an unexpected vacancy, or consider when those who led the organisations decide to retire. We all have so much to give and pass on to those that follow, I recognised the opportunity to develop a succession programme that would support the mentors and identify the future generation of leaders and experts to drive organisations forward for the long-term.

Yet succession planning isn't just a once off exercise, or a plan to replace those in charge. We all have aspirations for our career to grow and develop, and take steps up the ladder or even take steps off our career path to try something new. Putting plans in place for business continuity also gives opportunity for you to consider your own career and life goals to pursue.

In recent years, as the world changed working practices, and created the chance for people to truly reconsider their lives, this is now the time for you to consider your life un-lived. What do you want your legacy to be? What are the chapters in your life yet to be lived?

As I myself considered my life un-lived, and recognised loved ones departing this world, and also having a couple of health and personal obstacles in recent years, I also explored the importance of end of life planning and legacy building. How did I want to be cared for if I cannot care for myself? How do I want to be remembered once I depart this world? And what do I need to let others know are my final wishes for the time when I am finally gone? This may seem daunting and bleak thinking, but to truly live we must consider the end.

Preparing for the end helps us truly begin.

I came to the realisation that end of life planning is a great way to really consider life goals, and legacy building. Tying in succession planning for organisations also gave added importance to plan for what comes after we are gone, whether in moving roles or leaving organisations.

The more we can prepare for the 'what ifs' and 'whens', the freer we can be to truly live the life we want. Also in giving support to others it helps in being clear in what should follow (whether in work, in living, for our final chapter of our life, or indeed upon our death).

So what does Living Legacy do?

The theme of our work is contingency planning, legacy building, and supporting YOU to live a life fulfilled. Carried out through Coaching, whether for a life or business focus, this is supported by consulting services to guide the strategic, operational, and administrative requirements to provide an end-to-end service. Our goal is to serve you to live your best life and be prepared for the eventuality of death along the way.

Through end of life planning and legacy building, we work with individuals and families, to prepare for the ‘what ifs’ and ‘whens’ to create space for you to truly embrace life and the legacy you want to build and live, to leave a positive mark on the world and for those you love.

How are We qualified to do this?

A Business and Life Coach and Mentor, I have worked for over 20 years in senior management and human resource development. I ran a social enterprise in Ireland for nearly 5 years and in recent years have moved into the area of social research to work with communities to give a voice to their lived experience to improve life for them and the generations to follow. I love to work with individuals and groups to develop systems, consider strategies for success and to implement contingency plans to guide their vision for the future, and support them to bring these goals to life.

With a Masters Degree in Anthropology, and a Bachelors Degree in Anthropology & Geography, and a Bachelors Degree in Business and Human Resource Management, I am a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), a certified Toastmaster, and a QQI certified Trainer.

My life, work, and academic experience will support you to bring your vision to life.
